What is the Popi MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol: an open standard that lets AI assistants work with other software. With the Popi MCP your AI assistant gets direct access to Popi: the sites on offer, your prices, your orders and links, and your projects.
You do not have to learn anything new. You ask a question the way you would ask a colleague, and the assistant looks up the answer in Popi. It picks the right function itself and combines several steps when needed.
Step 1
You ask your AI assistant
Step 2
The Popi MCP
Secure login with your Popi account
Step 3
Popi gives the answer
- Sites, metrics and prices
- Your orders and links
- Projects, keywords and competitors
- Sales and payouts for publishers

All 27 functions at a glance
These are the functions your AI assistant can use. You do not need to know their names: just ask your question and the assistant picks the right function.
Search the sites on offer for content links, homepage links or directory links. You can filter on search term, niche, category, audience, language, extension, SEO metrics and price, show only discounted sites or favorites, and sort the results.
Example questions
- Find Dutch content link sites about technology with a DR between 30 and 60.
- Show the cheapest homepage link sites with at least 10,000 monthly visitors.
Technical name:
search_sites
The full profile of a site: description, SEO metrics, categories, audiences, content guidelines and the prices per link type and niche.
Example questions
- Give me the details of example.com.
- Which link types does this site offer and what do they cost?
Technical name:
get_site_details
The exact total price of a placement for your team, including any discount. For content links you choose who writes the article: you deliver it yourself or Popi writes 400, 600 or 800 words. For homepage and directory links you choose a period of 1, 2 or 3 years.
Example questions
- What does a content link on this site cost when Popi writes a 600 word article?
- What is the price of a homepage link for 2 years on this site?
Technical name:
get_pricing
Finds sites that resemble a site from the offer: same language and comparable content, metrics and price. Sometimes the data has to be fetched first. The assistant then tells you how long that takes and tries again.
Example questions
- Find sites similar to example.com.
- Give me five alternatives for this site in the casino niche.
Technical name:
find_similar_sites
Give any URL, for example the page you want links to, and the assistant finds the sites whose content matches it best. A new page is analysed first, which takes about a minute. You can have up to 25 new pages analysed per team per day.
Example questions
- Which sites match https://www.example.com/product best?
- Find relevant sites for my landing page and sort them by price.
Technical name:

Why link building with AI is so much faster
Your AI assistant does the searching, comparing and calculating. You keep the overview and make the decisions.
Research in seconds
Have hundreds of sites compared on relevance, metrics and price while you grab a coffee.
Smarter choices
Combine your project data with the offer and discover where your next link has the most effect.
Always your own prices
The assistant calculates with the prices and discounts of your team, so there are no surprises afterwards.
You stay in control
The assistant prepares, you decide. An order is only placed when you complete it in Popi yourself.
Connected in three steps
The Popi MCP works with every AI assistant that supports MCP connectors, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Le Chat and Perplexity.
Add a connector
Open the settings of your AI assistant and add a connector (also called MCP server) with the address below.
https://popi.nl/mcp
A Popi window opens. Log in with your Popi account and click "Allow access". You do not need to copy a token or password.
Ask a question
Try for example: "Which categories does Popi have?" If you get a list back, the connection works.
Claude Code
Using Claude Code? Add the connection with this command and log in with /mcp.
claude mcp add --transport http popi https://popi.nl/mcp
The MCP connection is currently available by invitation. Request access from your Popi account and we will let you know when it has been enabled.
Register and get startedSafe, and you stay in control
An AI assistant that works with your account has to be trustworthy. That is why the Popi MCP is built with clear boundaries.
Log in with your Popi account
You connect through a secure login at Popi. You never share a password or token with your AI assistant.
Only your own data
The assistant works with the offer on Popi and the data of your own teams, and nothing else. Every answer names the team it was made for.
No orders without you
The assistant cannot place orders or spend your budget. It prepares a shopping cart and you complete the order in Popi.
Disconnect at any time
In your account you see which AI apps are connected. Disconnecting an app immediately revokes its access.
